The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) may call off
its three-month-old hit on Friday, the union's Deputy National
President, Mr Tijjani Wakil, has said.
Wakil notified the report bureau of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja that calling off the strike would be in the aftermath of discussions with stakeholders.
NAN recognises that the union, which members are employees of research institutes' over the country, had vowed not to call off the hit until its constituents' demands were fully-contacted.
Wakil said the amalgamation contacted with the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu, on Tuesday and was satisfied with the discussions.
The minister of Labour and Productivity yesterday said President Goodluck Jonathan had accepted the memo on all their demands.
