Its not quiet long when Sony Xperia Z was announced and lauched to serve as a direct competitor to samsung galaxy s4 and HTC One.
Am happy to tell you in here that there is now a root guide for the newly launched sony xperia z(the ones with unlocked bootloaders only) once you root your phone, you are bound to enjoy all what rooted users are enjoying.

Disclaimer & Warning!
It is strongly advised that  you use this tutorial only for Sony Xperia z. Trying using this tutorial  in any other Android device May result in unpleasant outcomes of which am not liable.So before you proceed,  Check your device’s model number in: Settings » About phone. Try this at your own risk. Although, it is very unlikely that your device will be damaged if you follow all the instructions here to the last letter in this tutorial


Before you root your phone take note of this: Once you have rooted your android device, your device  warranty will get void; However, you can reclaim the warranty by applying official firmware update or by unrooting the device.
To check if you have  successfully rooted your device or not simply  install an app called “Root Checker” t available for download on Google PLAY store.

Pre Requisites & Requirements:
  1. Make sure your device have at least 60% battery power. [How to Check Battery Percentage in Android Device press settings>>Battery or download any battery optimizing app from google play e.g]
  2. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled. [ You can do this by pressing settings>.developer options>>USB debugging]

GUIDE ON HOW TO ROOT THE SONY XPERIA Z:

Download the required files below:
Android SDK (Download & Install the same in your computer);
Fastboot Drivers (Download & Install the same in your computer)
download Modified Kernel
Download nsecure Kerne

  • Now, turn Off your device so that it can be entered in the Fastboot Mode. SONY Xperia Z can be entered in the Fastboot mode by pressing Volume Down Rocker Key and while pressing, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable.
  • Head over to the Device Manager, right click on the “SB1 Fastboot” and choose to update the software and point to android_winusb.inf file in the USB driver folder.
  • Open the ADB Command line and enter the command as;
adt-bundle\sdk\platform-tools
  • After you have entered the command “fastboot devices” in the command line, you will get to see “CB5blahblahblah fastboot” indicating that the phone is successfully connected to the computer with all drivers ready.
  • Now, up next you will need to enter the below mentioned command;
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
  • The KEY in the above command should be replaced with the one which you got from SONY.
  • Now, download Modified Kernel and Insecure Kernel from here to your computer. Once downloaded, you need to put the same directory from where the ADB is executed which is by default C:\Program Files\Android SDK.
    • Boot your device in the Fastboot Mode and then enter the command in the ADB;
    fastboot flash boot Z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-ported_FW-350.img
    fastboot reboot
    • Your device should now now be stuck in a loop, booting up to the notification which is shown above;
      • Now, hold the Volume Up + Volume Down button to press the power button after which your Xperia Z will be vibrating for three times to confirm the same.
      • In command prompt, enter the below mentioned command,
      fastboot flash boot Z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img
      fastboot reboot
    Now, your device will boot up, and the phone will be unlocked and rooted. Please note that it will take more time than expected for rebooting the device in the normal mode. Once the device is rebooted, you can then disconnect the device from computer. The whole process of booting might take around 4 -5 minutes maximum..
