Pete Edochie said he did not even go to Austria, the rumoured place of his death.
Popular Nollywood actor and veteran, Pete Edochie, on January 4 debunked rumours of his death.
During the Christmas season, it was rumored that Mr. Edochie fell off a 50 feet height mountain in Kitzbuhel, Austria and died.

The actor said in YouTube video that  he heard the rumor of his death in Austria and was amused because he does not fly and would not have travelled all the way from Nigeria to Austria on foot.

“I found it very amusing even though it disturbed my family and all the people who know me. Why I found it amusing is because I don’t fly and wouldn’t have gone to Austria on foot.” Mr. Edochie said.

He made reference to his culture, saying that as the head of an Igbo family, he couldn’t have travelled anywhere during the Christmas season as it is a period when family members come home from all parts of the world to celebrate and have meetings.

It was also posted on facebook that the actor died after falling off a 50 feet height in Austria.
Mr. Edochie wondered why people would want him dead in a hurry since he has not killed anyone.
He said he has forgiven the young man and would not curse him because he learnt that people outlive those who wish them dead. He cited Last Nnamdi Azikiwe as a case, saying Mr. Azikiwe outlived a number of people who wished him dead.

The actor, who will be 66 on March 7, said he comes from a family known for longevity.
He appreciated those who called in even in tears to find out if he had passed on. Pete Edochie said the incident made him realize the great number of people who wish him well.
